Managing Partner: Ross Holmes LLB. (Hons.), TEP

Ross Holmes is Managing Partner of Ross Holmes Lawyers LP, Managing Director of Ross Holmes Trusts Limited, a Director of a number of private companies, and a trustee of the trusts established by his family.

Ross graduated with an honours degree in law from Victoria University in Wellington in 1971 (which included a masters paper in taxation and estate planning). He has been practising as a lawyer since 1973 and has been a partner in law firms since 1975.

Ross specialises in asset protection planning and trusts. He is a member of the international Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the author of the best selling books on trusts: "Sham Trusts" (1999), "Success with Trusts" (2000), "Successful Trust Management" (2002 and 2005), is a contributing author to legal publishers Lexis Nexis text book "Law of Trusts" (2000), and has had articles on trusts published in legal journals.

His experience in the asset protection planning field includes a period as senior manager in the taxation division of a leading accountancy firm, and a period as Managing Director of an Australia and New Zealand Banking Group international trustee company subsidiary. Partner: Terry Gore LLB.

Terry Gore has been a partner in Ross Holmes Lawyers since 1990. He graduated with an LLB. from Auckland University in 1984. He was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1985 and is a member of the New Zealand Law Society. Prior to that he worked for law firms in Auckland and London. Senior Associate Neena Bartlett LLB., Dip. Crim., TEP.


Neena Bartlett joined Ross Holmes in 1989. She graduated a degree in Law from Canterbury University and was admitted as a Barrister and a Solicitor of the High Court in 1988. Neena also completed a Diploma in Criminology from Auckland University in 1988. Head of Chinese Legal Section - Richard Chen LLB.

Richard joined Ross Holmes in 2005 having previously worked for a national law firm. He graduated with a Chinese law degree and has two years practice experience in Beijing, China. His practice in China was mainly focusing on international IP law, investment and commercial. Richard obtained an LLB degree from the University of Auckland in 2003 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2004. His New Zealand areas of expertise include property, commercial, trusts and asset protection planning, wills, and employment. Richard speaks English and Mandarin. richardc@rossholmes.co.nz

Teddy joined Ross Holmes in 2007 having previously been a partner in a Hong Kong law firm. He graduated with an honours degree in law and Marsters degree in Law in England. His New Zealand areas of expertise include property, commercial, trusts and asset protection planning, and wills.

Julia joined Ross Holmes in 2007 having previous worked in a New Zealand law firm. Prior to immigrating to New Zealand, she worked in a Chinese law firm as a partner with 9 years extensive legal practice in corporate and commercial law.She graduated with a Law degree in China and a Master of Common Law degree in Australia, and was re-qualified and admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2008. Her New Zealand areas of expertise include asset protection planning and taxation trusts, wills, family law, commercial, business and property law.
